 Internal Medicine physicians specialize in the comprehensive spectrum of illnesses that affect adults, and are recognized as experts in diagnosis, in treatment of chronic illness, and in health promotion and disease prevention.

I.M. Well does comprehensive annual physicals, urgent care for established patients, telemedicine, blood draws/lab work, and referrals to trusted consultants.

Internists are not limited to one type of medical problem or organ system. Internists have extensive education in each of the internal medicine subspecialties — which includes endocrinology, cardiology, infectious disease, psychiatry/mental health, rheumatology, neurology and infectious diseases, etc.

Internal Medicine physicians solve diagnostic problems - for example, if an individual comes in with fatigue, she is able to listen to the nature of that fatigue (is it sleepiness, muscle fatigue, general malaise, decreased energy levels?), do a physical exam (any thyroid nodules, changes in neurologic exam, new rashes, heart function?), get labs (checking blood counts, liver/kidney numbers, hormones such as thyroid, electrolytes and vitamins such as d, b12, & iron) and figure out the diagnosis and treatment.

Internists manage severe long-term illnesses, and helps patients with multiple, complex chronic conditions in addition to prevention.

What is not included in the annual fee?

The following will be covered depending on your insurance plan:

• Diagnostic imaging (i.e., CT Scans, XRays, MRIs, ultrasounds, mammograms)

• Specialist visits

• Cosmetic & Aesthetic procedures (with some exceptions depending on your diagnoses)

• Emergency room / external urgent care visits

• Hospitalizations

• Lab work, prescriptions, vaccination & other testing (done on site, but billed to insurance)

• Co-Pays

Do you take patients outside of NYC?
